Calculate Age Mannually

You cannot calculate date of birth from age only, if age is expressed as a positive integer. 

However to calculate age as years, months, days 

First Calculate the Years. 

2011 minus 1988 = 23 years 

Next Calculate the months 

August =8 
Next you need month of your birth 

Since it is August 
also 8 and 

8-8 = 0 

I'm going to note that if you were born in April you 
would do 8 - 4 = 4 months 

If you were born in December, you would get 

8 - 12 = -4 . 
That is negative because you have not had your birthday yet 

so we would borrow 12 months, subtracting 1 year and take you down to 22 years 
{which you were before your birthday 
and then -4+ 12 would be 8. That would have made you 22 years 8 months. 

As it is, you are 23 years 0 months. 


Next Calculate the days. 

Since this is day 27 of August you would 

find 27 - 14 = 13 days 

so your age is 

****************************** 
23 years 0 months 13 days 
******************************. 

If this were August 5 
you would get 5 - 14 = -9 

Now you would have to take it down a month and add the number of days 
in the preceeding month. Since July was a 31 day month it would be 

-9+31 = 23 days 

and on August 5 you were 
22 years 11 months 23 days.
